Muncie has a vibrant LGBTQ+ History

and we want to preserve it!

Muncie’s LGBTQ+ history dates back at least six decades but it’s hard to find any record of it in newspapers, archives, or other sources. That’s why we’ve been working with community members since 2018 to preserve this history — for our own sake and for the sake of future generations!

We’re conducting interviews and collecting photos, zines, show posters, documents — anything else that might help us to learn more about Muncie’s LGBTQ+ past.

We’re interested in talking to anyone who is or has been a part of LGBTQ+ life in Muncie. If you have something you’d like to share, please reach out! Your story matters!

“Everyone has a story and everyone deserves to be heard.”
