Donate Materials

An archive is a collection of historical documents that help us to learn more about the past. Sometimes, these documents can be speeches by famous people, but more often, they are photos, letters, journals, and other materials that tell the stories of regular people. We want to build an archive that will help us (and future researchers) learn more about the LGBTQ+ history of Muncie!

What Can I Donate?

We’re interested in almost anything that will help us to learn more about LGBTQ+ history in Muncie and the surrounding area. Do you have photos of drag shows, or LGBTQ+ friendly spaces, or important moments in your own history as an LGBTQ+ person or ally? Or, maybe you have newsletters or flyers or zines or videos or newspaper clippings or old journals or poetry? If you have something you think might help tell this story, let us know! We would love to talk to you about it!

But I Want to Keep My Stuff!

No problem! We’d still love to see it! In some cases, we can make digital copies so that you can contribute to the archive and keep your originals. In other cases, you can set up a bequest to donate your materials at a later date. In any case, we’d love to see what you have!

What About My Privacy?

We know that donations like these sometimes come with privacy concerns. We appreciate your contribution and want to work with you to address any concerns you might have. We’re happy to talk to you about how you can make a donation while still protecting your privacy or the privacy of others.
